At ReelTime Animal Rescue (“ReelTime”, “we”, “us”) we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

This privacy policy has been drafted to explain how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information that we collect about you and your rights with respect to that information.

We may collect the following types of information about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

Personal Information does not include data where your identity has been removed so that we can no longer identify you (anonymous data), which we may use for any purpose.

2. Children’s online privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 may provide any information to or on the website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on this website. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. We do not respond to or honor “do not track” (a/k/a DNT) signals or similar mechanisms transmitted by web browsers.

5. How we use your information

We may use your information to conduct our business operations including for the following purposes:

7. Third Party Content, Apps, and Links

Some content or applications on our website may be served by third parties, content providers and application providers including the following:

a. Plugins. Our website makes available the option for you to use “plugins” that are operated by social media companies. If you choose to use one of these plugins, then it may collect information about you and send it back to the social media company that owns it. This may happen even if you do not click on the plugin, if you are logged into the social media website that owns the plugin when you visit our website. Information collected by a plugin is subject to the privacy policy and terms of the social media company that makes it. If you do not want the social media company who owns a plugin to collect information about you when you visit our website, sign out of the social media network before visiting. By interacting with a plugin when you are on our website (for example, clicking the Facebook “Like” button), you are intentionally transferring information to that social media company. 9. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the website.

10. California privacy rights

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Nevada residents have the right to opt out of the sale of certain "covered information" collected by operators of websites or online services. We currently do not sell covered information, as "sale" is defined by such law, and we do not have plans to sell this information.

We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), in connection with processing Canadian personal information.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes described in this privacy policy unless (1) we have obtained your consent to use it for other purposes; or (2) we are otherwise permitted or required by applicable law to use it for such other purposes.

A. Transferring your personal information outside of Canada

We may transfer personal information that we collect, or that you provide, to third parties (including affiliates, service providers and others) as described in the How We Use Your Information and Disclosure of Your Information sections above.
We may process, store, and transfer your personal information in and to a foreign country, with different privacy laws that may or may not be as comprehensive as Canadian law, such as to the United States. In these circumstances, the governments, courts, law enforcement, or regulatory agencies of that country may be able to obtain access to your personal information through the laws of the foreign country.

B. Data Retention

Your personal information will be kept in Canada and the United States and accessible to our employees and service providers who have a “need to know” such information for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

By law you have the right to request access to and to correct or rectify the personal information that we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions as required or permitted by applicable law.

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

13. EU-UK Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or are otherwise subject to the General Data Protection Regulation, then this section of our privacy policy applies to you.

a. Data controller

The data controller for processing related to information obtained from users of the website is ReelTime Animal Rescue, LLC. In some cases, we may serve as the processor for controllers who provide us videos that may contain personal information.

b. Additional information about data we collect about you

We do not collect any special categories of personal data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offenses.

c. Lawful basis

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract, we are about to enter into, or have entered into with you.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests, potentially including uses such as determining the success of our services and for determining marketing performance to share relevant information and offers about our products with clients and potential clients.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
  • Where you consent to our use of your personal data.

We will get your consent before sending third party direct marketing communications to you. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us.

ReelTime reserves the right to verify the truthfulness of personal data provided at any time.

ReelTime does not use any type of automated process for profiling purposes.

e. Data retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements. In any event, we do not intend to hold the data for more than five years.

f. Transfer of Data

Your personal data may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including personal information, to United States and process it there.
Your consent to this privacy policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

ReelTime will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy and no transfer of your personal information will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

14. Changes to our privacy policy

We will post any changes we may make to our privacy policy on this page. If the changes materially alter how we use or treat your information we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account (if you have an account with us) and/or through a notice on the website home page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring that we have an up-to-date email address for you and for periodically visiting our website and this page to check for any changes.
